Amazon Web Services m5ad.24xlarge is a general-purpose instance featuring 96 vCPUs, 48 physical cores, and 384.0 GB of DDR4 memory, powered by an AMD EPYC 7571 processor running at 2.2 GHz. Built on the Nitro hypervisor, it includes 3600 GB of local NVMe SSD storage and 20 Gbps of baseline network bandwidth. Performance benchmarks highlight a clear tradeoff: single-core CPU performance and single-threaded compression are weak, ranking in the bottom 10%, whereas multi-core performance and database operations achieve average ratings.
