      Amazon Web Services r5.4xlarge is a memory-optimized instance featuring an Intel Xeon 8259CL processor with 16 vCPUs, 8 physical cores, and 128.0 GB of DDR4 memory. Built on the Nitro hypervisor, this x86_64 server provides a high memory-to-vCPU ratio of 8 GB per core but lacks local storage and GPU accelerators. Network performance is limited to a 5 Gbps baseline. Benchmark results reveal a performance tradeoff: single-core CPU performance is weak, falling in the bottom 25%, while multi-core CPU and memory bandwidth benchmarks consistently rank in the average range. This resource profile makes the instance cost-efficient for memory-dense workloads that rely on multi-threaded execution rather than raw single-core speed.
