Performance benchmarks show a distinct tradeoff: single-core performance is weak, with stress-ng single-core scores in the bottom 10%, whereas multi-threaded performance is strong, with Passmark CPU and multi-threaded bzip3 decompression scores in the top 25%. Memory bandwidth also performs strongly in small-block read and large-block write tests.
