The Microsoft Azure M64s is a memory-optimized server instance featuring 64 dedicated vCPUs across 32 physical Intel Xeon 8280M cores running at 2.7 GHz. Equipped with 1024.0 GB of RAM and 2097 GB of local storage, this Hyper-V-powered instance offers a high memory-to-vCPU ratio of 16.0 GB per core. Benchmark data indicates a clear performance tradeoff: single-core performance is weak, with poor results in single-threaded compression and Geekbench single-core tests. Conversely, the server excels in multi-threaded operations, showing strong large-block read-only memory bandwidth and strong multi-threaded bzip3 decompression. Multi-core CPU performance, database operations, and Redis SET throughput remain in the average tier.
